Hi, Sarah… It has been awhile! At any rate, I am interested in researching the current state of computer assisted technology used in assessing legal writing law schools. Unless I am missing something, I am finding nothing on the CALI website (which surprised me) and little recent scholarship or non-academic sources discussing the state of this kind of software and its efficacy.

My idea is that such software could (and should) be used throughout law schools (especially in the first year). Students (especially underprepared ones, of which there are many) need to write frequently, and receive solid formative assessment I order to improve.

I know that this kind of software is available for free through EdX; I do not know whether there are commercial products available at an affordable price.

Do you know anything about this? If it, can you direct me to someone that might know about this kind of thing?

Thanks in advance. Hope to see you at the AALL Snnual Meeting this summer.

    * assessing legal writing in law school courses.

    ** in order to improve

(Sorry for the typos; I am writing this while on a bus, and the Autospeller is not helping! Hope my inquiry is sufficiently clear; please let me know if it is not.)

    Thanks again,
